The seam guide is fixed in the shank of the presser foot. The
seam guide on the left side of the presser foot is compatible
with all L 8 models and is mainly used for sewing overlock
stitches. The seam guide on the right side of the presser foot
can be used for coverstitches as well as for chainstitches and is
therefore ideal for the L 890 (it cannot be used in combination
with the knife cover insert).
